AI and Languages Education

There has already been significant research into how AI can support teachers in planning and preparation of materials in the language classroom.

this case study, by contrast, focuses on the ways in which AI can support students in their understanding of register, tone and context in language delivery and reception.

Led by Kristin Leeds and Kelsey Cooper in conjunction with The Davis Centre, this case study will analyse the nature of students' interactions with both free and paid AI tools, identify what is missing or lacking in these exchanges, and propose actionable strategies for educators.
